NeurOptimal & Family Support Specialist
Wandering Minds Counseling & Consulting is seeking a compassionate and dependable individual to support Neuroptimal sessions for adoptees, guardianship families, and youth connected to foster care and post-adoptive services.
This role supports a growing need for emotional regulation and wellness-based services for children and families who may benefit from nervous system support in a calm, trauma-informed environment. Many participating families access these services through Oregon Post Adoption Resource Center (ORPARC) reimbursement opportunities.
This is a non-clinical support role focused on helping create a welcoming and emotionally safe environment for children and families. This position does not provide therapy or behavioral health treatment services.
Part-Time | Roseburg, OR | Flexible Scheduling

Part-time, approximately 10-20 hours weekly
Flexible scheduling based on availability
$20/hour
Paid Neuroptimal training included
Potential CWE/internship opportunities depending on program requirements

Assisting clients with Neuroptimal session setup and disconnect
Monitoring sessions and maintaining a calm environment
Supporting scheduling and basic administrative tasks
Welcoming and engaging with children and families professionally
Maintaining confidentiality and appropriate boundaries
Supporting a trauma-informed and family-centered atmosphere

High school diploma or equivalent
Interest in human services, behavioral health, psychology, education, social work, or related fields
Comfortable working with children, adolescents, and families
Ability to maintain professionalism, boundaries, and confidentiality
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Reliable, calm, and compassionate presence
Ability to follow directions and work independently within a structured environment
Comfortable learning and supporting Neuroptimal session procedures
Ability to pass a background check
Reliable transportation

Comfortable working with children and families
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable, grounded, and compassionate presence
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality
Experience with trauma-informed care or foster/adoptive systems is helpful but not required
